When the forecast for a large quantity of rainfall came earlier this year, Botanic Plant Supply wanted to be prepared. As a wholesale nursery, they produce a large range of native, exotic, deciduous and evergreen trees to supply domestic and commercial landscapers, developers and councils. Since they were having trouble getting spare parts for their existing pump set and with a large weather front due, they decided it was time to look for a reliable replacement.
After a recommendation from a Victorian irrigation company and further research, the nursery business owner decided to contact Allflo Pumps & Equipment. They explained that they were after a pump to collect run-off water from recycle dams, where there was no access to power so it would need to be diesel powered. Ideally, they wanted to be able to operate the unit remotely, and due to multiple dam locations, it also needed to be transportable from one location to another.
Having discussed with the nursery their objectives, Allflo came up with a solution that met their needs and could be used in more than one location. Allflo suggested their Remko RS-150 pump coupled to a Perkins 404D-22 engine Ag pack as it would achieve the requested flow rate. The pump package is skid mounted and could easily be placed on an existing trailer for ease of manoeuvrability.
This unit is easy to operate and would come fitted with a K27 Telemetry package that would allow the unit to be started remotely from up to 5 different phones. This also included a float to auto Start/Stop as requested by the customer.
The decision to proceed with the unit was made easier as Allflo already had one in stock ready to go. Only the Telemetry package, pipework and connections had to be added and Botanix would be ready for any upcoming weather event.
Upon collection of their Remko RS-150 Ag Pack unit, one of our technicians gave the customer a complete rundown on how to start and stop their pump and we sent them on their way happy with their new investment.
